So I'm finally taking the plunge and launching my own grocery delivery service focusing on fresh produce and dry goods for customers in Dubai Marina and JLT, and honestly the logistics side of things is way more complicated than I expected. I've got the vehicle sorted, the website is almost ready, and I've lined up a few local farms and suppliers, but I keep going back and forth on what kind of containers to use for transporting everything without damaging the products. I need something that's lightweight enough to carry multiple trips but sturdy enough to protect eggs and delicate fruits from getting crushed during bumpy drives, and they absolutely have to be easy to clean because hygiene is non-negotiable with food items. I've been looking at options and it seems like plastic crates in Dubai are pretty common for this sort of thing, but I'm not sure about the different types available or which ones offer the best balance of durability and cost. Has anyone here started a similar business and figured out what works best for daily deliveries, especially during the summer months when things can heat up quickly? I'd really appreciate any practical advice on sizing, ventilation, and whether stackable designs actually make a difference in practice.
